Børge Mogensen
Børge Mogensen (13 April 1914 - 5 October 1972) was a Danish carpenter and furniture architect who helped define modern Danish design. Today he is best known for his designs of sofas i.e The Spokeback sofa that stands out thanks to its adjustable side. Børge Mogensen was one of the post-war's most influential furniture architects and Fredericia Furniture's first house designers from 1955 until his death in 1972. He was educated at the Art Academy's Furniture School, where he was subsequently employed by Kaare Klint's and Mogens Koch's design studios. Børge Mogensen was inspired by visual calm and functionalism with the human role in focus. Børge Mogensen strived to create objects for everyday use that can last for generations and that is exactly what his renowned design classics are considered today.
