Esbjørn Hiort, who wrote this book "The Architect Finn Juhl", had a close friendship with Juhl (1912-1989). Juhl was one of Denmark's original furniture designers and he became world famous thanks to his design of the UN headquarters and his international exhibitions. Juhl also won five gold medals at the Triennales in Milan in the 1950s. As an exhibition architect, Finn Juhl was behind the major exhibitions of Danish applied art abroad, which created the concept of "Danish Design".
