About Arne Jacobsen Oxford chair:
The Oxford Chair was designed in 1965 for St. Catherine’s College, in England. Arne Jacobsen has both designed the Furniture for St. Catherines College, but also the extension. He designed the Oxford with high and low backs. The high back oxford chairs were designed for the professors and the low oxford chairs are designed for the students. The chairs were mainly designed for the dining room where the tall oxford chairs are placed on a podium above the students.
The Oxford chair has a shell of veneered wood, a swivel five-star base of aluminum and with or without armrests of brushed aluminum. The chair is either upholstered in leather or fabric.
